In recent years, medical tourism in India has witnessed remarkable growth, propelled by advancements in medical infrastructure that have attracted global attention. India ranks among the top wellness tourism markets, both globally and in the Asia-Pacific region.
To facilitate medical travel, India offers a visa-on-arrival system allowing foreign tourists a 60-day stay, with patients requiring an e-Medical Visa and attendants needing an e-Medical Attendant Visa. Applicants must apply online at least four days in advance, within a 120-day window.
Eligible applicants must ensure their medical purpose is genuine, having sought initial guidance in their home country and being referred for further treatment in India. They must upload recent passport photographs and photo pages, ensuring clarity and compliance with specifications.
The e-Visa fee varies by country/territory, with an additional 2.5% bank transaction charge. Fees must be paid at least four days before travel to avoid processing delays or cancellations.
Once fees are paid, they are non-refundable and cover application processing regardless of authorization status. Applicants must carry a copy of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) and ensure it reflects 'GRANTED' status online. Biometric details are captured upon arrival in India.
The e-Visa is nonconvertible, non-extendable, and not valid for certain areas. Travelers from yellow fever-affected countries must carry a Yellow Fever Vaccination Card or face potential quarantine.
For e-Medical Visa, applicants must provide scanned passport bio pages and a letter from the Indian hospital with admission details. Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals have specific registration requirements and are advised to adhere to their countries' policies.
For medical visa invitation letters, applicants must email relevant details, including current medical reports and passport scans, to support@jaginfra.com. This ensures a smooth process for obtaining necessary documentation from the hospital for visa application.
